Nokia rolls out Call and SMS filter feature for Lumia Windows Phone handsets running GDR2
Just recently, we learned about the upcoming update to Windows Phone 8, called General Distribution Release 2 (GDR2). This update has already been rolling out to select handsets running Windows Phone 8 and now Nokia has rolled out a new feature for those who have the GDR2 update on their Lumia handsets.
Today, Nokia has rolled out an updated “Extras + Info” for the company’s Lumia line of Windows Phone 8 devices. This new update brings the recently revealed Call and SMS filter feature, which lets you block specific numbers that are not in your address book as well as block phone calls that contain a private or anonymous number. The update also allows you to block harassing texts.
The update even offers you a Live Tile for your Start screen, showcasing to you how many calls and text messages have been blocked. You can take a look at the video below, courtesy of WPCentral, to see the feature in actions. Just remember, in order to get this update, you will need to have installed the General Distribution Release 2 (GDR2) update, which is still rolling out to Nokia Lumia handsets running Windows Phone 8.
