Nokia has rolled out the Nokia Refocus app for Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices, and the app is now available for download for those of you who have the Nokia Amber update already installed. Your Lumia device must also have a PureView camera.
“First focus on the object that’s the closest to you, and as you look through the viewfinder with your camera, it will look blurry. However, move the camera closer to the object and everything becomes clear. This is to help you know how close you can go before you take the shot,” Nokia explains in an official blog post.
“Once you have the closest object in focus, tapping the screen on your Lumia will start the capture process – which only takes a couple of seconds (try to be very still). During this time, Nokia Refocus performs a ‘focus sweep’ and creates a depth map,” Nokia adds.
Nokia Refocus allows you to take a series of two to eight shots. Each of these shots will be at five MP at a different focus, which will be ultimately aligned into one image. You can tap on any part of the final image to shift the focus allowing you to create a variety of different shots from just one picture.
Hit the download link below and try it out! Remember, you will be required to have a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 device that sports a PureView camera and the Nokia Amber update.
