Nokia Normandy

The Nokia Normandy has seen its fair share of rumors in the past few weeks, and they’re going to continue until Nokia takes the wraps off it. Recently, the alleged Nokia Normandy made an appearance on Vietnamese shores, at an online retailer Thegioididong, confirming the set of specifications it brings to the table — it’s a low-end offering from the Finnish Maker judging from the specs.

The retailer is listing the device as Nokia Normandy, and it comes with a 4-inch FWVGA display boasting a resolution of 400 x 854 pixels. Under the hood, the alleged handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC with a clock speed of 1GHz and 512MB of RAM. On the storage side, the phone features 4GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot to provide up to 32GB. On the rear, it is expected to come with a 5 megapixel camera for photos and videos.

The surprising specification is the operating system, which the retailer is listing as Android 4.4 KitKat. Obviously, we’ve heard from several reputable publications in the past about the operating system, but it’s not the same Android we’re used to seeing — it is expected to come with a forked version of it. Additionally, it also lists Google Play Access under the specs, suggesting the availability of Android applications on the handset.

Well, we can’t just count on this one completely, as Nokia hasn’t confirmed the handset until now. A rumor suggests Nokia Normandy will see the light of day at Mobile World Congress, and Nokia has already sent out press invites for it’s event where we can expect a sweet surprise from the Finns.

Let’s just take it with a grain of salt. In the meantime, head over to Thegioididong’s website and check out detailed specifications of the alleged Nokia Normandy.
