Nokia has done a commendable job in pushing the Lumia Black update to its range of devices. The majority of high-end Lumia handsets already got a taste of the Lumia Black update, while others are in the process of receiving it. The latest handset to join the list is the Nokia Lumia 720. Unfortunately, it’s not so wide spread at this moment, but the update is rolling out in a few Asia-Pacific and European regions, including Bangladesh, Nepal, France, Germany and Switzerland — the update is available on a few carrier models in Germany and Switzerland, according to the Nokia Support page.
Not too long ago, the Lumia Black update started for the AT&T Lumia 920 and 820 in the US, along with the country variants of the Nokia Lumia 625 and Nokia Lumia 520. The new Black update brings several interesting features to the handsets, including the Glance screen 2.0, driving mode, improved storage management and WiFi sharing, the ability to set custom ringtones for specific applications, double tap to wake, screen orientation lock, a host of Nokia specific applications such as Nokia Beamer, Storyteller, etc. and several other features.
If you’re based in the countries mentioned above, it would be a good idea to check for the update manually. If you already received the update, feel free to share your thoughts using the comments below, and tell us about the improvements you notice. In addition, if you received the update in any other country, please share with us as well.Further reading: Lumia, Nokia, Windows Phone
