Nokia Chat for Windows Phone 8 hits Beta, is exclusive to Lumia handsets
Nokia has released the first beta version of its Nokia Chat for Windows Phone 8. This chat software is exclusive for Nokia Lumia handsets. And best of all, its free!
“The first beta release of Nokia Chat for Windows Phone is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Nigeria. We’ll be expanding availability to more countries in the near future,” Nokia stated on an official blog post.
Nokia Chat for WP8 features person to person messaging utilizing Nokia Chat and Yahoo Messenger. The app allows you to scan your address book to find users who already use the app. The app features push notification support and Live tile updates, as well as the ability to send information about a restaurant, store, or other points of interest. In other words, those with a Lumia phone using this app can see details, directions, and reviews within the HERE Maps app.
The Nokia Chat app also utilizes features in Windows Phone 8, including the ability to compose messages by speaking into your phone and using voice commands.
Nokia plans on expanding this app to more countries in the near future but is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Nigeria.
