No Picture in Picture mode for Xbox One “at this time,” but you can vote

Alongside the general announcement of the April 11th availability of the Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft today also released the Xbox One March Update, delivering quite a few changes to the gaming console. As some have worried about in the past, one of these changes is the dropping of the much beloved Snap Mode. While some may be upset because of the removal of the feature, the head of Xbox Mike Ybarra has revealed that a Picture in Picture mode for TV (PiP is widely rumored to be a replacement to Snap) is not available for Xbox One “at this time,” but you can vote for one.

As seen in the Tweet above, Mike Ybarra is encouraging users who really want to multi-task and watch their TV shows while playing games on their console to head here to vote on the Xbox User Voice forum. Given the results of the Xbox Insider Program, Microsoft clearly values the feedback of gamers. So, if you really want to see the Picture in Picture feature, it’s best to vote and hope that the feature picks up traction to come to both both TV and UWP apps on Xbox One. Mike Ybarra had also previously mentioned that Snap was replaced because it improves multi-tasking reduces memory use and helps the overall speed in the Xbox experience, so there might as well be bigger things ahead.
