Back in January, developers from Microsoft Garage released News Pro to the web iOS devices, an interesting service that allow users to search for news curated around their interests, work and everyday life. Today, the app has just updated to version 2.0 and this latest release is bringing a groups feature as well as a new personal news bot that will help you find information in a more interactive way (via Engadget). Please find the full change log below along with a video showcasing the new features:
- Introducing Groups. Come and share news and exchange your opinions with colleagues and friends in groups. It’s a popular place where people take a break.
- Introducing personal news bot, Rowe. Rowe is your personal news agent and can keep up with interesting topics and stories with you all day long. Moreover, he is going to surprise you once you upload a selfie and share with him.
- Support email sign in.
It worth noting that the Skype team has already added a “Bing News” bot to the Skype app that currently gives you recent articles about the keywords you mentioned, however this News Pro bot seems more powerful as it can also look for stories based on the content of pictures (or selfies). Last, be aware that the News Pro iOS app is still only available in select markets and that the web version of News Pro has yet to be updated to support all these new features.
