If you’re one of the many people who happen to still be playing Star Wars: Battlefront, you’ll probably get a kick out of the new DLC pack. The DLC is aptly named “Death Star,” and it takes place on – you guessed it – the Death Star. On top of bringing with it five new maps set on the Death Star, the new add-on brings new heroes to the game (Bossk and Chewbacca), new weapons, a new game mode, new star cards, and a laundry list of tweaks, bug fixes, and other various improvements.
The add-on also brings with it something that fans of the game have wanted for a long time – something that could only ever come with a Death Star DLC. Starting now, you can partake in the Battle Station game mode, where you reenact the events from the end of A New Hope. To quote the patch notes, Battle Station is:
A new three-phased mode in which Rebels attempt to destroy an Imperial Star Destroyer in order to clear space for a GR-75 and its brave Rebel boarding party. Then, these Rebels participating in an assault on the Death Star in hopes of rescuing R2-D2 before, finally, attempting to destroy the Death Star itself with the help of Luke Skywalker.
If that’s not the game mode we were all imagining back when Star Wars: Battlefront was announced, I don’t know what is. If you spent your childhood wanting to fly through the narrow passages of the surface of the Death Star and fire a torpedo down into that ill-conceived self-destruct vent, now is finally your time to shine. If you’ve got the season pass, you can start playing the content in the DLC right now.Further reading: Microsoft, Star Wars Battlefront, Xbox One
