It looks like there could be a new showcase in the works dubbed Developer_Direct  for some Xbox news, according to sources close to Microsoft.

Per the source, Microsoft plans to leverage this new platform to make major announcements regarding upcoming games regularly. This new showcase will not affect the roles played by both E3 and Game Awards, only that it will be used to make announcements at regular intervals thus keeping Xbox fans on new releases made rather than having them wait. Microsoft had promised Xbox fans more gaming news soon after its disappointing Games Awards presence and this could be the beginning of it fulfilling this promise.

The Developer_Direct showcase will reportedly take place on January 25 at 12 PM PT and will be streaming live on Xbox’s official channels, that is, YouTube and Twitch. It’ll be hosted by both Xbox and Bethesda, where they will likely have discussions and showcase entries like Redfall, Minecraft Legends, as well as Forza Motorsport.

Developer_Direct won’t be as comprehensive as the Games Award or E3, instead, it will only focus on a handful of exclusive entries. The source has also disclosed that Starfield might not be part of the entries released during the showcase, besides, there was an indication that it was set to be released during the International Day of Human Flight.
