Microsoft and Marvel Entertainment are highlighting the not-so subtle partnership with an overt ad for the latest Disney+ show She-Hulk.

A new ad that combines Microsoft’s Surface Pro 8 with Marvel Entertainment’s titular She-Hulk: Attorney at Law character was tweeted out over the weekend following the debut of the show on Disney+.

In the ad, Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, uses a Surface Pro 8 to manage her busy day as part lawyer and part superhero with setting client meetings via Outlook, trial research, web browsing, and more casual use at home with a presumably made-up dating app designed for Windows 11’s tablet mode.

At the end of the day, the ad does a decent job of showcasing the Surface Pro 8’s versatility as well as informing the customer that there is a dedicated app in the Microsoft Store to stream the latest Marvel show.

As a fan of both Surface devices and the comic character She-Hulk, I think Microsoft could have sold a few of its left-over Surface Studios with its She-Hulk promotion. For one, she’s much larger than the average woman or man and a Surface Studio might be more up her alley as well as her cousin Bruce, (Hulk).

Secondly, they’ve already shown a Surface Studio being used in the courtroom during the first episode of the show. Perhaps, after whatever Surface event we’re given, Microsoft may revisit its Marvel Entertainment promotions calendar.

The She-Hulk tie-in is perhaps the most public display of Microsoft and Marvel Entertainment coming together, but Surface devices have been popping up in Marvel properties over the past decade with notable appearances in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D frequently, Shang Chi and Marvel Defenders.

Microsoft has also ramped up its appearances in other Netflix and network shows such as Never Have I Ever where everyone uses a Surface Pro or Surface Laptop as well as in famously showing off the Surface Neo that never-was in Netflix’s Red Notice.

I suspect we’re nowhere near the apex of Microsoft’s Surface product placement or entertainment partnerships with this latest Marvel She-Hulk ad.
