343 Industries is inviting Halo Insiders to test the first Halo 3 flight on PC before the game eventually joins to the PC version of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection anthology. If you got your invite, you’ll be able to play select campaign missions as well as various multiplayer modes.
“The goals of this first flight will be to test our distribution pipeline, test updates to Challenges, gather feedback on the content listed below, and ensure all supporting systems are functioning properly in preparation for bringing Halo 3 to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC,” 343 Industries explained. Here’s all the gameplay content you can expect in this first flight, which will run from June 11 through June 18:
- Campaign Missions: Sierra 117, The Storm, The Ark, The Covenant, and Halo.
- Social Games: 4v4, 8p FFA, 12p Infection, 8v8
- Competitive: H3 Team Hardcore (4v4), H3 Team Slayer (4v4) H3 Team Doubles (2v2)
- Halo 3 Multiplayer: Construct, Guardian, Last Resort, Narrows, Sandtrap, The Pit, Valhalla, Foundry, Standoff, Avalanche, Sandbox, and Heretic.
Halo 3, which was the first Halo game to ship on the Xbox 360 back in 2007, holds a special place in the hearts of Halo fans. It’s often seen as the best Halo game Bungie ever created, and it was true multiplayer sensation before Call of Duty went to become much bigger than Halo.
If you have yet to join the Halo Insider Program, you can sign up on the Halo Waypoint website. 343 Industries teased on Twitter earlier this week that once Halo 3 has shipped on PC, the spinoff episode Halo 3: ODST will be coming later this summer.
