A few weeks ago Surface Pro 3 users were treated to a firmware update in preparation for Windows 10 Creators Update. Microsoft has now followed up to release a newer firmware update, which is aimed at improving  stability and performance between power states (via Neowin.)`

Released on April 18th, the latest firmware version number is 38.12.70.0, and it should appear in Windows Update as “Surface – Firmware – 38.12.70.0.” As noted by Microsoft, the firmware update “improves system stability and performance when you change between power states.” The Device Manager name for this firmware, meanwhile, is “Surface Pro Embedded Controller Firmware,” so be sure to head to Windows Update now to check to see if it is available for your device!

With an AdDuplex report showing a 26.7% popularity of the Surface Pro 3, it’s great to see that Microsoft is still supporting the older generation Surface device, even though it no longer lists the device in the online store. How is the battery life on your Surface Pro 3? Let us know in the comments below!`
