Microsoft is rolling out a slew of firmware updates for its Surface devices, including the Surface Pro 4, Surface Laptop 4. The first and second generations of the Surface Laptop are also getting updated, with each getting a single update.

Starting with the Surface Pro 4, the April 2021 firmware updates bring security and stability improvements and address the “Asset tag versioning issue” with the device. You can check out the full list of changes below:

The latest batch aims to improve the stability and reliability of the device and addresses critical security vulnerabilities. Apart from that, it also enhances connection stability and graphics interoperability for peripherals. You can find the full details below:

  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 10.5.141.0 Improves stability and device reliability.

Finally, a new Surface UEFI firmware (138.3681.768.0) is now available for both the first and second-generation Surface Laptops, with the lone purpose of addressing stability issues. As usual, it’s possible that the update won’t roll out to all users at the same time, but you should get it sooner rather than later.
