Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass game subscription service is getting some big new sports games this Spring. Following the addition of Madden NFL 21 for Xbox Game Pass ultimate members (via EA Play) yesterday, NBA 2K21 and Football Manager 2021 will be added to the catalog tomorrow.
The latest basketball game from 2K Sports will be playable on Xbox consoles as well as Android devices for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. The NBA 2K franchise remains a true juggernaut just like the FIFA and Madden series, and NBA 2K21 was the first episode to get a separate next-gen version for Xbox Series X|S consoles. However, it looks like only the Xbox One version of NBA 2K21 will be available with Xbox Game Pass tomorrow.
As for Football Manager 2021, two versions of the game will be available with Xbox Game Pass starting tomorrow, March 4. The regular Football Manager 2021 PC game will be available with Xbox Game Pass for PC, but Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition, a separate version based on Football Manager Touch and offering a tailored experience for consoles will be available on both Xbox consoles and PCs. This is an Xbox Play Anywhere title with cross-save support, though PC players will likely prefer the full-fledged Football Manager 2021.
Later this month, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also get access to Star Wars: Squadron via EA Play, and NHL 21 will follow in April. Thanks to Xbox’s partnership with EA, all new EA Play games now come to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at no additional cost, and that includes FIFA 21, EA Sports UFC 4 (one of the first games to support the new FPS Boost feature on Xbox Series X|S consoles), as well as the upcoming Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Battlefield 6.
On a different note, five games are about to leave Xbox Game Pass next week on March 15. The list includes CD Projekt Red’s critically-acclaimed RPG title The Witcher 3, as well as Alvastia Chronicles, Astrologaster, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, and Kona.
