Nadella: Xbox business is here to stay, has no intent do anything different

Microsoft is not planning to sell off its Xbox business. At the Code Conference, Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella squashed the rumors that suggested Redmond-based company might sell off its gaming business. Nadella confirmed that Microsoft will stick to Xbox, despite the criticism it is getting from its investors.

If you remember, a few weeks ago, Bill Gates was misquoted in an interview, causing the entire internet to think that he would support Nadella's decision to spin off the Xbox division - if he went that route.  Xbox fans can rejoice, as the new CEO seems committed to the gaming division. "I have no intent to do anything different with Xbox than we are doing today," Nadella told Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg during the event.

Before the company bought Nokia’s devices and services, Xbox was its hardware know-how. Nadella believes that Xbox was the company’s biggest platform push. Many analysts believe that Xbox had been a dead weight to the company. However, over the past few months it seems that Xbox has matured and can now help the company bring in more revenue.
