My Workspace

The Microsoft Garage Team has released a new project for MacOS aimed at helping you bring all things Office 365 to your fingertips. Known as My Workspace, the project is an app which adds a menu bar to the MacOS interface, giving access to upcoming calendar events, recent documents, and more.

The geniuses behind the project are a team of Microsoft Garage Interns from Vancouver, British Columbia. This team was challenged to add value to a person’s day using the Office 365 suite. After four months, and many testing and speaking with target users, the project was created.

Interested users can download My Workspace by clicking here. After installing and opening the app, one can click on the circle icon in the MacOS menu bar to summon the app. As seen in the video and the featured image above, MyWorkspace offers up access to recently used Office 365 files, and also gives a quick look at upcoming calendar events. The user can even customize My Workspace to their own liking, and adjust which of the Office 365 apps appear in the menu, or how many calendar events can be displayed.

It would appear that this is the first Microsoft Garage Project which has been released to MacOS. As you may recall, The Garage has already created many other projects for various platforms, including Dictate, Clip Layer, and News Pro. My Workspace will definitely be a welcome addition to the other projects, so let us know if you’ve tried it out by dropping us a comment below.
