For those of you who tend to rely on the assistance of Cortana as you go about your daily schedule, you’ll be pleased to know that the virtual assistant has received a bit of an upgrade in its latest iteration. In build 14322 for Windows 10 Mobile Fast Ring Insiders, Cortana is getting a brand new way to remind you of some of the important things going on in your life. Where before today you just plug in reminders, you can now add photographic aids to those reminders and even bookmarks through Edge.

We are making it easier and quicker to set a reminder in Cortana with 2 new exciting ways to create reminders. You can now create a Photo Reminder by taking a picture of something you want to be reminded about… You can also now set reminders on content from UWP apps that utilize the share contract in Windows, like Microsoft Edge and the News app.

At the store and don’t want to forget the exact details of an item you’re coming back for later? Just snap a photo of the item and have Cortana set a reminder for you to swing by the store later – you’ll have the photo right there with your reminder making sure you don’t buy the wrong thing. One of your friends sends you an article on the news app but you don’t have time to read it right then and there? You can make use of Cortana’s new reminder system to set a reminder to read that article.

Photo Reminders in Cortana

While you could still do both of these things already utilizing the reminder system and a few other apps, it’s great that Cortana has now gone the extra mile to bring convenience to the people who want to use it in order to plan out their daily lives. The ability to attach more information to reminders makes them much more reliable and versatile going forward, and ought to convince more people that they should try using Cortana as a planner.
