With spring having arrived in the northern hemisphere, despite what the weather in some areas indicates, baseball starts to creep into the mind of the sports fan. The boys of summer will soon be on the field and, just in time for the new season, the official MLB app for Windows Phone has received a makeover.
MLB.com At Bat has added new features, now letting users get pitch-by-pitch tracking. This will include stadium renderings for 30 different parks around the country. There are also new push notifications covering such things as breaking news and lead changes, among others.
“This official Major League Baseball app also provides Live Tile and Lock screen updates, live scores, news, video highlights, schedules and more. Also, pin your favorite teams to your Start screen”, states Microsoft.
Note that some of these features, like pitch-by-pitch, require a subscription to either MLB.tv or At Bat 14. The app itself is, however, free, so anyone can use it and get many of the available features.
