Minecraft sales reach 122 million, 55 million unique players per month

Back in June of 2016, Mojang and Microsoft shared that Minecraft has sold over 100 million copies, and averages about 40 million players a month. Today, the Minecraft team has followed up with a new set of Stats on their Twitter page, announcing that Minecraft sales have reached 122 million all time, and 55 million unique players per month, up about 15 million from since last June.

The recent statistics would make sense, given that there are several Minecraft versions on Windows 10, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and more. In typical fashion, Minecraft also put together a series of cool Tweets which celebrates the community. According to the Tweet, the 122 million copies sold account for 4.0 million cat people, 4.8 million dog people, 12 million who hate Cilantro, 3.8 million who are as tall as Hugh Jackman.  Minecraft’s 55 million monthly players, meanwhile, is enough to circle the globe in one conga line.
