Minecraft, the highly popular and blocky construction game, is receiving its biggest update ever for the console editions of the multiple platform player. The updates will bring the console editions (currently Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 & 4, with updates to PlayStation Vita coming in a few days, and Wii U sometime next year) “closer to the current PC build than they’ve ever been before”.
The update includes new blocks, new mobs, new biomes, new items for all modes including Rabbit in many forms (raw, cooked, stew, Rabbit’s foot, Rabbit hide), Potions of Leaping and Water Breathing, and lots of new fish and animals.
A post on the Mojang Minecraft blog lists features too numerous to list here, including additional professions for Villagers (encourage them to harvest and breed by feeding them 3 bread, 12 carrots, or 1 potato!), rebalanced Anvils, and forgiving Adult Zombie Pigmen!
The update also includes a number of fixes and tweaks, and you may be relieved to find that Spiders can no longer see through solid blocks (whew!)
So fire up Minecraft on your Xbox, and check out all the new features!
