MINECON becomes MINECON Earth, moves online to Mixer and Twitch with interactive webcast

MINECON has always been known as a worldwide celebration of the community, the game, and everything Minecraft brings to the people of earth. This year, Mojang is shaking things up, making it easier for everyone around the world and the community to participate in MINECON.

According to Mojang, the Minecraft community is “still growing” and “there’s only a certain number of players we can host while keeping the friendly, intimate community atmosphere.” of MINECON. As a result, Mojang is announcing MINECON Earth, a new interactive show which will incorporate everything Minecraft into a condensed show on Mixer and Twitch on November 18th, 2017.

MINECON Earth will kick off on November 18 at 12 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. GMT with a 90-minute live stream on both Mixer and Twitch. You’ll be able to watch from a living room, viewing parties, retailers, and from community events. Though not many details are being shared, you also can expect the same kind of entertainment, humor and announcements from past MINECON events while watching.

Minecraft has also teamed up with Minefaire and BLOCKFEST, creating authentic Minecraft Community events. At these events, you will have the chance to meet your favorite YouTubers and streamers, compete in tournaments and costume contests, and much more. More details will be shared in the future, and you can stay tuned to the Minefaire and MineVention websites for more information.

MINECON was previously held in in Anaheim, California last year, giving fans to see the hottest Minecraft topics, exhibitions, and other cool Minecraft stuff in person. Unfortunately, tickets to the event sold out very quickly, so with this new online event, fans from around the world will be able to enjoy all things MINECON.
