Miix2 is Lenovo's first 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet

Lenovo has unveiled the company’s first 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet, called the Miix2. This tablet features an Intel quad-core processor and a IPS wide-angle high definition display. The Lenovo Miix2 is set to arrive later this month for a starting price of $299.

The tablet device features Intel’s BayTrail-T Quad Core processor and integrated Intel HD Graphics (Gen7) with Clear Video HD technology. There is also 128GB of eMMC onboard storage which can be expanded by 32GB with a micro-SD slot. The 8-inch tablet features a 16:10 widescreen display. This 10-point multi-touch WXGA display has a screen resolution of 800×1280 and a 178-degree viewing angle. There are also two webcams, a 2MP front camera and a 5MP back camera.

“Many users want the convenience of a smaller screen tablet, but do not want to lose the performance and convenience of a powerful, quad core Windows 8.1 device. With the Lenovo Miix2 8-inch, users can take advantage of a small, light form factor without sacrificing performance. The Lenovo Miix2 8-inch is a great example of how thoughtful design can deliver the best of both worlds,” Lenovo’s VP and General Manager Bai Peng stated in an official press release.

The Lenovo Miix2 comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 and also offers the option of a stylus and detachable cover. This tablet is set to arrive later this month for a price of $299.
