Microsoft’s Xbox gaming revenue down while Live subscriptions increase 33% to 49 million for Q4 2016

Perhaps one of the more interested outcomes of the recently released quarterly reports from Microsoft pertained to the Xbox revenue. With the decline of personal computing revenue being blamed on Windows phone and Xbox consoles, it was worth noting that the Xbox Live subscriptions shot up nearly 33% from the last year. This puts monthly active users up to 49 million compared to the 46 million we saw last quarter.

Microsoft already seems to have plans to drive the console revenue back up. With Xbox One S expected to ship later this summer and Project Scorpio right on its tail, we expect the personal computing to be getting another major revenue bump from gamers.
