Microsoft’s Windows Store and Xbox LIVE gift cards now available for purchase

Windows Store gift cards

Just recently, we learned that Microsoft had rolled out the ability to redeem gift cards or promotional codes via the Windows Store. This feature obviously is great as it allows one to enter a gift card code to use towards app or game purchases, without having to tie in your Credit Card information. We also learned that Windows Store Gift Cards would be available in-store when Windows 8.1 launched on October 18th.

Now that Windows 8.1 has launched, Amazon has begun selling the gift cards in $15, $25, and $50 (USD) increments. These gift cards can be redeemed to a single Microsoft Account that consumers can use across multiple products, such as Windows Store, Windows Phone Store, and the Xbox Store.

“Windows Store Gift Cards are a new way to buy apps, games and more in the Windows Store on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1 in addition to select Xbox stores. Consumers can purchase Windows Store Gift Cards as digital codes online and at more than 100 top PC retailers in 25 countries starting this Holiday,” Microsoft stated.

On top of the Windows Store gift cards, Amazon is also offering Xbox LIVE gift cards. Head over to Amazon.com and search for Windows Store gift cards to snag one. Will you be purchasing a Windows Store or Xbox LIVE gift card for a friend or family member this holiday season?
