Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7.8 update has made its appearance on Nokia’s servers through NaviFirm for the Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 devices. This comes as great news for those who own any of these Nokia Lumia phones and are eager to obtain Microsoft upcoming update to those who are unable to have Windows Phone 8.
“Great news for those waiting for WP7.8 update for their Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 .The Firmware build 8858 appears now at NaviFirm for all the above devices and it is available for most of the European countries and APAC variants. So, pretty strong indication of near future roll out of the update for most of the devices,” the report states. Now, this update isn’t necessarily an official update from Microsoft, so be careful when toying around with these unofficial updates as they can be very risky. The great news is that it looks like most of the old Lumia phones will receive this update. Microsoft is expected to release the official Windows Phone 7.8 update for Windows Phone 7.5 users very soon (early 2013).
