After posting Minecraft updates on Mojang.com for quite a while, Mojang has now announced that they will be moving their blog to back to Minecraft.net. The change means that you might want to bookmark the new web page, so you won’t miss out on all your important Minecraft updates.
According to the Minecraft team, the reason for the change is the fact that the new Minecraft.net now has a wider perspective. Along with the usual Minecraft game news, Minecraft.net will now highlight the things you create on a daily basis, introduce you staff, give insight into development, and more. Content on the website will also be divided into four categories, culture, insider, merch, and news.
- Culture is dedicated to the amazing folk who’ve made Minecraft what it is today: the community! YouTubers, modders, Add-On creators, server owners, cosplayers and even the deviant artists.
- Insider is a peek behind the curtain. It digs into development secrets, inspiration behind our updates, DLC, game mechanics, and more! This is where you’ll become a Minecraft and Mojang expert, learning about who we are and what we’re up
- Merch shows off the cool things made by our partners around the world. But don’t worry – it’s not just a bunch of adverts
- News: As you might have guessed, this section hosts the most up-to-date info about all editions of Minecraft. It’s basically what Mojang.com has been until today.
It is worth noting that Minecraft.net has recently received a major facelift prior to the switch over, such as a more relevant brown a green theme, rather than the older brown and black theme. The older Mojang.com blog will also still be in use, but only for news that’s not relevant to Minecraft, which is not much at the moment. Of course, you also always can count on OnMSFT.com, as we are always here to report on all your Minecraft news and information.Further reading: Microsoft, Minecraft, Mojang
