Being able to digitally downloading content on your Xbox One, rather than purchasing via retail, is one of the key features and convenient benefits of the entertainment console. So it makes total sense to see the same discounts become available for digital downloads as they would for retail content.
A post on the popular social website Reddit, titled What infuriates me more than not being able to preorder Titanfall digitally and get the $10 off deal, Microsoft’s Major Nelson reassured several commenters, along with the whole world reading, that the company is indeed working on bringing competitive pricing to digital downloads.
Games and other content are offered at a discount at the Microsoft Store, as well as various other retail outlets, but those wishing for a digital download are not privy to the same discounts.
“I hope it includes competitive pricing for digital downloads, because it does feel like we are being punished for downloading digitally. I have been of the strong opinion that you guys are going to take care of this fairly soon. I know there are a lot of things high on the priority lists for X1 and I don’t mind that those things are taken care of first, but it should be on the agenda,” one person stated on Reddit. Major Nelson replied to this by stating unequivocally, “[It] is indeed on the agenda.”
“We are way aware of this and many of the concerns of the community – we have some great stuff planned for Xbox One this year (and beyond.) As soon as we can share some of the goodness…we will,” Major Nelson adds.
