Microsoft's intelligent wireless charging plate is now available for purchase

Remember that smart wireless charging plate we talked about back November? Well now its finally available for purchase!

The Microsoft Wireless Charging Plate DT-903 is the first wireless charger that communicates with your phone. Using LEDs in a way that is reminiscent of neon lights under sports cars, the wireless charging plate will blink to let you know that your phone is getting low on battery, urging you to let it charge the your Lumia. It will also blink to incoming notifications on your phone just in case you might have missed them. It can notify you about missed SMS messages, phone calls or emails, but can be customized using the Lumia Device Hub app.

If you are worried about the LED being too much of a distraction, in a dark room for example, you’d be pleased to know that Microsoft designed the LED to have an ambient “gentle breathing pattern, so as not to be too distracting. All these new features will require a device with Bluetooth LE support, the Lumia Denim updates, and of course Qi wireless charging included.

The Wireless Charging Plate DT-903 is now available to US customers at the online Microsoft Store for $59. It will make its way to physical Microsoft Store’s over the coming days and weeks.
