Microsoft's final NCAA March Madness deal offers up a discounted Acer Aspire R13 Signature Edition PC

For those that did not know, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament takes place during the month of March, known to fans as “March Madness.” In celebration of this famous annual sporting event, Microsoft launched a small promotion called Microsoft Madness.

For the final round, Microsoft is offering an Acer Aspire R13 Signature Edition 2-in-1 PC for $699 (a $200 savings). This device is available online only at MicrosoftStore.com and at local Microsoft retail stores. The device will be available for purchase starting today and ending April 9th.

Voting took place on Microsoft’s promotion webpage, asking users to vote for either the Acer Aspire R13 or a free wireless controller with any Xbox One console
($59.99 value). Clearly the winner was the Acer PC.

The first two discounts, which have already ended, featured a Lenovo Flex 2 for $499 ($200 savings) and a $25 gift card with a Fitbit Charge purchase. Now, you can snag the final discount — the Acer Aspire R13. Here are the specs:

  • Runs Windows 8.1
  • Intel Core i5-4210U 1.70 GHz
  • 13.3″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 IPS
