The tool, according to the company, can generate varying designs, from greeting cards and social media posts to PowerPoint illustrations and logos for businesses.
Microsoft Designer was crafted with the capabilities of DALL-E, a powerful image-generation tool. It is now integrated into the Edge sidebar, transforming the mundane tasks of creating designs into a simplified yet engaging activity. How it works parallels AI-powered text-to-image models, like Stable Diffusion.
Integrating Microsoft Designer with the Edge sidebar enables users to readily produce custom designs for emails or social media posts on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. This development eliminates the need to depend on third-party apps for such functionalities.
Accessing the new Designer tool is straightforward: click on the ‘+’ icon visible on the right side of the Edge sidebar, followed by the ‘Designer (Preview)’ option. To start creating designs, supply the search box with key terms relevant to your desired theme or event. The tool then automatically generates unique images boosted by the DALL-E image generator.
Once the images are generated, they are readily available for download and use for any purpose the user deems fit. Yet, it’s worth noting that the tool is currently in the preview phase. As of now, it is exclusively available to users based in the United States.
