Microsoft won’t be releasing a new Windows 10 build for Insiders in the Dev Channel this week. The Windows Insider team has been consistently flighting new builds on Wednesdays in recent months, but that didn’t happen yesterday. Unfortunately, the team confirmed on Twitter a couple of minutes ago that the next flight will have to wait for next week.

“This week’s Dev Channel build candidate wasn’t ready to take off, so we’re cancelling the flight for this week. We’ll be back at it next week, the team said.”

Last week, Microsoft released the Windows 10 Insider build 21343 for Dev Channel Insiders, and the most notable change was the introduction of redesigned File Explorer icons. Top-level user folders including Desktop, Documents, Downloads, and Pictures have all received a fresh coat of paint, and even the Recycle Bin got a new icon.

The team teased last week that more icons will be refreshed over time, and we hope the next flight will bring some new visual changes. Microsoft is reportedly planning a big design update for Windows 10 version 21H2 later this year, and Chief Hardware Officer Panos Panay recently said that 2021 is going to be a “massive year” for Windows.
