Threshold

We’re all aware now that Microsoft is currently in the process of developing the next iteration of Windows, currently codenamed as Threshold. We’ve had a whole lot of information regarding Threshold leak over the last few weeks, so we have a pretty good idea what to expect when it launches in 2015. Microsoft has already revealed ideas about Threshold, but are yet to talk about it in detail.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has today said, during the FY14 Q4 earnings call, that they are looking forward to talking more about the future of Windows and the many enhancements coming in the next version of Windows in the “coming months.” Now, the term “coming months” can mean a number of things, but if recent reports are correct, we assume that time frame will be sometime within this year.

We recently heard that a preview of Windows Threshold would take place in Fall 2014, meaning Microsoft will have to talk about the update before they release a preview. If Nadella talks about Threshold this year, it’s possible that we’ll see a preview of Windows Threshold too. Exciting times for everyone at Microsoft.

Of course, “coming months” could mean sometime in 2015 too, so let’s not get our hopes up too much. What do you hope Microsoft will talk about when they do eventually begin talking openly about Threshold? Leave us your thoughts below!
