Microsoft is currently in a state of celebration, as today they announced that they had sold over three million Xbox One units since the consoles launch back in November 2013. This is a huge achievement for the whole Xbox team at Microsoft, and they’re thanking the players for making it all happen.
“Together, we ushered in a new era of games and entertainment with Xbox One. Over 3 million Xbox One consoles were sold to consumers in 13 countries before the end of 2013,” the blog post states. Microsoft says that the Xbox One was the fastest selling console in its launch month of November, and has also been popular throughout the holidays.
They continue, claiming that they are working as hard as they can to deliver new consoles to retailers as currently there is a shortage. This is most probably due to the popular demand for Xbox One. Millions of hours worth of TV has also been watched on Xbox One, so it looks like the whole TV element side of Xbox One is doing well too.
So, did you get an Xbox One last year, or are you planning to get one this year? It’s never too late to pick up your next generation console, as this year Xbox One can expect a whole load of new games from Watch Dogs to Destiny and maybe even a new Halo!Further reading: Microsoft, Xbox One
