Microsoft's Beam Video Game Streaming Service

Microsoft’s Beam video game streaming service, which is going to be getting a big push in the coming months, is holding a competition where its users get to design three new emoticons for Beam’s chat feature.

Users are encouraged to email their entries to Beam directly. Entries will close on January 19th and the best entries will be put open to a public vote on January 20th. In addition to having their emoticons used on the Beam site and apps, the three winners will each receive one year of Beam Pro, the service’s premium subscription option.

Entrants should note that the designed emoticons should be family-friendly and contain none of the following:

Hate speech, racism, or derogatory words

Sexual content and nudity

Drugs or drug paraphernalia

Violations of any third-party property or privacy rights, such as copyrights or trademarks

Realistic weapons and/or guns

Extreme violence or gore
