During the Microsoft Surface press event today in New York City, Microsoft unveiled the Surface Power Cover. “It clicks right in, it forms like a book. It looks beautiful and it’s wrapped in fabric.”

Microsoft’s Panos Panay took the stage and unveiled the Power Cover. He revealed that the Power Cover adds a 30wh battery to your device. You can now use your device all day long and the Power Cover is wrapped in a nice fabric.

Microsoft also unveiled the Docking Station, which features 3x USB 2.0 ports, 1x USB 3.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, Audio in/out, and power. Panay even joked about all the Apple MacBooks in use by tech journalists during the event saying, “I cannot believe how many I’m seeing [PCs] that are not as fast as Surface Pro 2.”

“When we talk about having the full power of a PC in a tablet form factor. We’re really proud of this, it’s really cool,” Panay added. The Docking Station and Power Cover will both be available in 2014.
