Microsoft is getting ready to open new offices in the Washington D.C. area in 2022. Toni Townes-Whitley, President, US Regulated Industries at Microsoft announced on LinkedIn yesterday that the company had just signed a new lease at 1300 Wilson Blvd in Arlington, VA, with construction work to begin this summer.

The new offices will welcome the company’s regional Global Sales and Marketing Organization teams, the Microsoft Sales Headquarters Office for the DMV (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) area, as well as Townes-Whitley’s U.S. Regulated Industries team. A new Microsoft Technology Center will also be part of the new sales hub in the mid-Atlantic area.

“From the facility to the location itself, everything about this project was planned with our customers in mind, creating a proximity that enables us to support their evolving needs. Additionally, this move unites our teams in the mid-Atlantic region, fostering a communal atmosphere that can inspire us to do our absolute best work,” Townes-Whitley wrote on LinkedIn.

Most Microsoft employees are currently working from home due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the company also announced that won’t hold any in-person events until July 2021. However, it’s good to see that the company is getting ready for what’s next. “While we are all navigating the remote work environment, securing this space is an exciting step that maps to current needs around our growing presence, and ensures that when we transition back to the workplace, we can do so as seamlessly as possible,” the exec said.
