According to a blog post on Reuters, Microsoft has joined the growing list of companies that help their employees cover expenses incurred when they travel for abortions or gender-affirming health care.

Currently, Microsoft already covers abortion and gender-affirming care services for employees based in the US. They are now incorporating travel expenses into this arrangement. This is in relation to legal development concerns revolving around the rights of employees. As such, not all Microsoft employees may be able to seek legal abortions locally, but Microsoft will cover employees’ travel expenses.

Microsoft joins Amazon, Yelp, Citigroup, Levi Strauss & Co, among other organizations that have already pledged to help out their employees to cover their travel expenses when traveling out of state to access these services.
