Microsoft has announced last week that it will publish its fiscal year 2017 Q2 financial results on Thursday, January 26, 2017. The company’s last earnings report highlighted cloud strengths with Azure revenue up 116%, but this time Surface revenue may well be an area of focus for Microsoft watchers following the holiday season.

Indeed, the Redmond giant announced last month that Surface family had its best sales month ever in November, emphasizing the success of its trade-in program for MacBooks. Additionally, Microsoft saw high demand for its Surface Hub digital whiteboard and its new Surface Studio all-in-one PC over the last few months, so we’ll see if this momentum will be reflected in Surface revenue. However, we don’t expect the company’s FY2017 Q2 earnings report to bring some good news about Windows Phone revenue, but that probably shouldn’t surprise anyone.

As usual, the company will hold a live webcast of the earnings conference call on January 26 and you can count on us for reporting the most interesting bits.
