Microsoft Teams is getting ready to launch two new Presenter Modes for meetings. Indeed, Reporter and Side-by-Side views will start rolling out to desktop users in mid-August, according to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

The Microsoft Teams’ Presenter Mode currently only provides a Standout mode to customize how the speaker appears when presenting in meetings, but these new options will help to make Teams meetings more professional. With Reporter mode, attendees will see the video feed and content above the presenter’s shoulder as a visual aid, much like a news anchor during TV news bulletins.

Side-by-Side mode is the other new layout coming to the Presenter mode in Microsoft Teams meetings to display the speaker’s video feed alongside the content. “When a presenter selects Side-by-side mode, participants will see the presenter’s video feed and content overlaid on a background image,” the company explained.

While these new Presenter Modes will first become generally available for all commercial customers worldwide in the coming weeks, the company is also planning to roll out this feature to GCC tenants in September.
