Microsoft Teams has received a new update on iOS that brings several new features and capabilities. The latest update adds support for webinars, search improvements, and an option to create all meetings online by default.
The company began rolling out support for webinars on the desktop last month. The new feature lets users host interactive webinars and meetings for up to 1,000 attendees, with the ability to scale to 10,000 people in the view-only broadcast option. The addition of this feature on iOS will now enable participants to join webinars from their iPhones and iPads.
The iOS app is getting a new search experience that adds a top hits section at the top of the autosuggest results in search. This feature has been designed to reduce search times by providing the most relevant results across files, chats, people, and more.
Lastly, Microsoft Teams is adding the ability for users to set their calendar options for creating all-new meetings and appointments online by default. This capability is already available on desktop clients and makes it easier for organizers to share meeting invites with attendees.
In addition to this update, Microsoft is also working on a range of new features for the Teams mobile client, such as offline file access support and inline message translation for channels. The company is planning to overhaul the visual look and feel of the app for mobile users.
