Microsoft shows off the new Windows 8 desktop interface during Surface launch event

During the Microsoft Surface tablet launch event in Los Angeles this past Monday (June 18th), Michael Anguilo from Microsoft showed off the new desktop user interface which will be introduced in Windows 8 RTM. This pretty much confirms the recent screenshots we have seen of the updated Metro interface.

As you can see in the above image, the desktop has a white Metro-style interface. This is the same Metro-style interface that we saw in the previous Windows 8 Pre-RTM leaked screenshots. As you know that Microsoft has decided to remove Aero from Windows 8 and will be introducing a new UI for the desktop, metrofying the whole desktop interface. The above image was taken by TheVerge during the event at California.
