As Windows 8.1 approaches general availability on October 18th, Microsoft is slowly showcasing each of the new apps that are bundled with Windows 8.1. This week, Microsoft showcases the new Reading List app that offers users a cool bookmark for content to be viewed at a later time.
“If you don’t have time to read an article or if you find something interesting you want to read later, you can save the reading for later with just a swipe to the share charm. And it’s not just content from websites. You can bookmark content from your other apps as well. This way, you can have all the content that you care about in one gorgeous app,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Reading List allows you to bookmark an item, like a website for example, on your PC and read that item on your Surface device.
The app also lets you bookmark content from other apps, such as the Bing app suite, along with website content. Bookmarks in the Reading List app will also take you back to the original source.
When you select a bookmark in the Reading List app, the app will automatically Snap to the side of your screen allowing you to easily return to the app to see other bookmarks.
“The Reading List is designed for the way you use your device. We believe your Windows device should reflect that right from the first moment you power it on. With a swipe to the share charm, the Reading Lists bookmarks content you care about from the sources you trust – all in one experience,” Microsoft explains.
Reading List comes bundled with Windows 8.1, which is set for release on October 18th.
