Microsoft is apparently looking to acquire the company behind the popular task management app Wunderlist, 6WunderKinder. According to a new report from a German magazine Manager Magazin (spotted on Windows Central), citing people familiar with the matter, the software giant is reportedly planning to acquire the company.
Wunderlist is one of the best task management apps available with dedicated apps for all major platforms. The service currently boasts 13 million users globally with the company’s CEO aiming for a worldwide user base of over 100 million in the future. It may take a little while for the company to go that far, but could happen more quickly with Microsoft as its owner.
This isn’t the first acquisition by Microsoft of this type. Not too long ago, the company acquired Acompli, an email app which was lately integrated in to the Outlook app for major platforms. It’s not the only app, Microsoft also acquired the cross-platform calendar app Sunrise Calendar.
It will be interesting to see what Microsoft plans to do with the task management app, provided the deal goes through. There’s no official word about it, but if it’s real, we may get to hear more about it in the near future.Further reading: Apps, Microsoft, Wunderlist
