Microsoft has just released today new updates for the Surface Pro 3 as well as a new tool for updating the Surface Dock for these devices. You can download these updates right now at the Microsoft Download Center (click Details then click + More to see all available downloads for the device), otherwise you will get these updates via Windows Update over the next few days. If you own a Surface Dock, Windows Update will also be able to update it when the dock is connected to a Surface device. Let dive into the details below:

Updates for Surface Pro 3 devices running Windows 10

  • Surface Dock Integration driver update (v1.0.6.0) improves stability and compatibility with external monitors and passive video adapters.
  • Surface Dock Firmware Update (v.1.2.6.0) improves stability and compatibility with external monitors and passive video adapters.

Updates for Surface Pro 3 devices running Windows 8.1

  • Surface Dock Integration driver update (v1.0.6.0) improves stability and compatibility with external monitors and passive video adapters.
  • Surface Dock Firmware Update (v.1.2.6.0) improves stability and compatibility with external monitors and passive video adapters.

Last, the Microsoft Surface Dock Updater is a new tool that allows you to check the firmware status of a Surface Dock and to manually update the firmware of Surface Dock devices. You can download it from this page, and after the installation is completed you will find the Microsoft Surface Dock Updater app under “All Apps” in your Start menu. This looks like a pretty straightforward app, but you can find support on this page if you need it.
