If Microsoft already released a new Windows 10 Insider build for the Dev Channel yesterday, the company is following up today with the cumulative update build 20211.1005 (KB4581021) that includes no new features. “This update does not include anything new and is designed to test our servicing pipeline,” the team said today.

This isn’t the first time that the company does such testing, though because this is just a cumulative update, this build should be pretty quick to install. As a reminder, the build 20211 released yesterday added Search to the Default Apps pages in Settings, as well as the ability for users to attach and mount a physical disk inside of a WSL 2 distro. You can get more details in our previous post here.

We hope to see the Windows Insider team releasing another Dev build with more new features next week. In case you missed it, the company also released a new 20H2 build for the Beta channel on Tuesday.

Update 1PM PT: The Windows Insider team said it has pulled the update after discovering a bug preventing Insiders from installing it.
