Microsoft releases free Bing Translator App for Windows Phone 8

Microsoft’s free Bing Translator app for Windows Phone has been a popular hit for the platform, surpassing over a million downloads and averaging a rating between four and five stars. Now, Microsoft is pleased to announce that the Bing Translator App is now available for Windows Phone 8.

“For the past few weeks the team has been heads down getting the app ready and tested for the new phones running Windows Phone 8, and we are pleased to announce that owners of the new Windows Phone devices are now able to download the app from the App Store,” Microsoft announced in an official blog post. For those that don’t know, the Bing Translator app combines augmented reality translation using your camera, your speech, and text translation. It also offers “word of the day” live tiles and an offline mode. Windows Phone 8 users can use a new transaltor “lens” whenever launching your camera, which will allow for quick access to the camera mode translation feature.
