Just recently, Microsoft held an event in New York City to celebrate the launch of Windows Phone 7.5 and the company went all out to advertise its new product. Microsoft built a six-story Windows Phone with some “live” tiles in the middle of Midtown Manhattan.
“Witness a giant, six-story Windows Phone bursting to life. Check out electrifying Live tiles revealing an epic “Plants vs. Zombies” battle, fruit-slashing ninja-action, a surprise gig by party-rockers Far East Movement, a killer live set from DJ Virman, and a native New Yorker proposing to his girlfriend from inside the giant phone,” reads the description of the YouTube video detailing Microsoft’s big NYC Mash-up.
Windows Phone 7.5 codenamed’Mango’ features an updated user interface with the intentions of “making it easier for the user to launch, to search, to find, to buy and to install” apps. The update also features a 25% improvement in memory efficiency and support for deep links into application content.
