With health being so often a large focus of the New Year, it makes sense that “Fit Week” is kicking off about now. On January 4th, Microsoft is going to be coming out to the NASDAQ MarketSite out in Times Square to ring the bell that kicks off NASDAQ’s fifth annual Fit Week. Zulfi Alam, General Manager of Personal Devices at Microsoft, will have the honors of ringing the opening bell.

Microsoft is taking part in Fit Week due to their increasing involvement with and dedication to fitness, as displayed by the Microsoft Band, which have made significant strides in helping people stay in shape. As one of the few devices out there that can help you with your running, keep track of your heart rate, help you sleep better, and even keep tabs on your exposure to UV light, the device has marked itself as a major turning point in our integration with technology when it comes to our health.

The opening bell will be rung on January 4th at 9:15 AM ET, right at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square. NASDAQ’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages will be putting up plenty of fitness tips to celebrate Fit Week up until January 8 when the closing bell will be rung by one of the other companies that are taking part. This is a great way for NASDAQ to bring companies together to celebrate fitness in the coming year, and hopefully, it will continue to run in the coming years.
