Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel Android apps updated with Tell Me helper

Microsoft has updated its productivity Office suite of apps on Android, including Powerpoint, Excel and Word. All three applications have received the newly introduced “Tell Me” feature, which give users the ability to look for things and features from the within the app in a few simple taps — it can either be a feature in the application or command, or any other action you want to perform without going through the tedious list of options such as word count, etc.

Apart from that, Microsoft Word gets merge and split cell functionality, while Microsoft Excel gets an improved version of the autocomplete feature.

Here’s the complete change log for the updated apps:

Microsoft Word

  • You’re the expert with Tell Me: Save time and focus on your work by finding the right command when you need it
  • Merge and split cells: Merge cells to make a heading span across columns, or split cells to show the right level of detail

Microsoft Excel

  • Better Autocomplete: Just start typing, and Excel will do a better job of finishing the text for you
  • Group and Outlines: Get to the right level of detail. Now you can expand or collapse grouped rows and columns
  • You’re the expert with Tell Me: Save time and focus on your work by finding the right command when you need it

Head over to the Google Play Store to download the updated Office apps.
