Both the Android and iOS versions of the Microsoft Power BI app updated today with support for a new “pinch and zoom” viewing option in all reports, improved drop-down lists, and enhanced sharing options with support for a variety of apps on smartphones and tablets.

Here’s the notes for the iOS update which brings the app up to Version 21.1:

  • We’ve enabled pinch and zoom in all report layouts and also in tablet, making it easier for you to zoom into your report content on your phone or tablet.
  • We’ve made it easier for you to navigate within your content. When you expand the drop-down list in the header of each item, you’ll see the location hierarchy of your content, letting you directly navigate to the content you want.
  • Now you can share links to Power BI content with your contacts. Use the new share action in the header to send the link, using one of the apps already installed on your device.

And here’s the slightly similar release notes for the Android app update (Version 2.2.200708.2118013) that have been strangely reworded but are mostly the same as the iOS notes:

  • “Pinch and zoom” is now available in all report views and also in tablets.
  • We’ve improved how you navigate to your content – When you expand the drop-down list in the header of each item, you’ll see the location hierarchy of your content, letting you directly navigate to the content you want.
  • Share from Power BI using your favorite apps – Use the new share action in the header to send the link, using one of the apps already installed on your device.
